Over seven hours of viewing time for some might be too much to ask. For the casual fan, and perhaps anyone who was born after Beatlemania's heyday, this may well prove to be a trying experience. For music historians and dedicated, die hard fans, I'd say this was worth the effort. I can definitely appreciate the accomplishment, thereby leading me to question how we are all better off for Jackson having pulled off this feat. I can only imagine the amount of patience required to go through all that audio and video. Now I do credit the film makers for the dedication and effort of going through the voluminous material and tackling such a huge project. It gets rather tedious after a while and just a bit repetitious. While I appreciate the Beatles and their musical legacy, I found the episodes somewhat a chore to sit through, because aside from their celebrity, what we are offered is an extended look at four musicians going to work and watching what they do every day for a couple of weeks. I'm keeping it short because I've already reviewed the individual chapters separately, so if you're interested, you can read my additional thoughts there. This is my overview for the ambitious three part documentary from Peter Jackson titled "The Beatles: Get Back".
